A Team Topologies Valued Practitioner (TTVP) is an independent expert practitioner (an individual person) in the software, IT, organization design, or related space who brings together expertise in their field (such as DDD, security, HR experience, etc.) and a strong awareness of Team Topologies (TT). We trust these people to deliver Guided Workshops, sense-check sessions, and similar sessions and also to advocate accurately and effectively for TT approaches.

Benefits for Practitioners

  • Identify closely with the Team Topologies brand and value proposition, providing an opportunity to raise fees and perceived value with clients

  • Option to deliver Team Topologies guided workshops and sense-check sessions for Trusted Partners alongside or in place of the TT authors

  • Access to the Team Topologies private StackOverflow portal for partner FAQs

  • Complimentary access to the TT Insights content subscription (currently worth €950 per year) - expected to be available from 2023/2024

  • Automatic invitation to provide a “Team Topologies Aligned” training course via the TT Academy

    • The TT Aligned course contains 20-25% material directly discussing TT, with the other material on a related topic

  • Option to be listed on the Team Topologies website as a TTVP

  • Option to use the designations “Team Topologies Valued Practitioner” and “TTVP” on marketing materials

  • Option to use the official TTVP logo on marketing materials

Requirements for Practitioners

Aspiring TTVPs are encouraged initially to join the Team Topologies Advocate (TTA) program. People from the TTA community are invited to apply to join  the ranks of TTVPs as their expertise becomes apparent.

TTVPs demonstrate ongoing advocacy in TT through blogs, articles, training, talks, etc., demonstrate and share practical TT implementation experience (such as client case studies), and may have TT-related training courses that are promoted by TT via the Team Topologies Academy

TTVPs also become part of the core team at TT.

How to apply for TTVP

Members of the TTA community may be invited to become TTVPs. When invited to join the TTVP Partner Program aspiring TTVPs will need to have completed the following:

  • A published case study or article describing the use of TT within a named organization

  • A public talk and set of slides that include a details on TT

  • Answering a couple of FAQs (not published yet) - if these get published on teamtopologies.com the name of the TTVP would be alongside those FAQs

  • A new online resource (a set of worksheets, a Miro board, a GitHub repository, etc.) that explores and expands the use of TT

  • A draft article, case study, talk, or set of slides that provides significant detail on the use of TT in the real world

  • Something else similar to the items above

The authors (Matthew and Manuel) will review the material and arrange an interview with you by video call with you to talk through your experience.

If we think you're ready for TTVP, we will ask you to provide a 1-page doc (700 words) that describes your experience with TT. This will be used as the basis for the partner page details for your profile. There are no fees for TTVP.
