Sonal Premi brings a broad and multidisciplinary background to her work in technology and business transformation. She specialises in helping executives and senior managers understand their key drivers and challenges, shaping technology solutions that create real business value.
Sonal began her career with hands-on experience in safety-critical software systems, and then transitioned into management consulting, where she focussed on business and operational effectiveness, assessing ways of working and recommending structural and process improvements to enhance software delivery.
For the past decade, Sonal has worked within broader technology leadership roles - particularly focused on analysis, architecture, and technology transformation, supporting both software development initiatives and large-scale organisational programs. Her work is focused on aligning business needs with effective, sustainable technology solutions.
Sonal holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, an MBA, and a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, equipping her with a strong foundation to bridge technical and strategic domains.

Sonal is a lifelong learner who enjoys challenging the status quo and is especially drawn to conversations about problem-solving and decision-making. Her introduction to Team Topologies came through the Domain-Driven Design community, and since then, she has been an advocate for applying TT principles within the organisations and clients she works with.
Sonal actively contributes to professional communities and is the co-founder of ADAConf, a conference focused on analysis and architecture, and the Domain-Driven Design Australia meetup group. She regularly speaks on topics such as domain-driven design, team agility and autonomy, and business capability led transformation. Sonal has also hosted Luke McManus for Team Interaction Modeling workshops at both ADAConf and the DDD Australia meetup.
