Sébastien Van De Poel - Team Topologies Advocate
Sébastien Van De Poel is a technical lead with experience in different roles. He intentionally took a position as a Functional Analyst and also as a Solution Architect because I believe collaboration gets better when you really understand each other's work. “Putting yourself in another's shoes helps create empathy”. Over time, he realized the Solution Architect role was limiting team autonomy. Now, he focuses more on helping teams collaborate, communicate openly, and continuously improve.

Team Topologies Advocacy
Sébastien learned about Team Topologies from Erica Engelen. He saw how giving teams clear boundaries and autonomy makes collaboration better and work easier. Now, he is convinced about this approach, and he's actively advocating and applying these ideas with his current client.
He prefers personal, face-to-face conversations instead of social media. He finds it more meaningful to genuinely connect with people directly, understand their perspectives, and guide them personally. Helping others discover new ways of thinking and solving problems, especially with Team Topologies, is something he’s passionate about, and for him, personal interactions are the most effective way to do this.
