Join forward-thinking leaders and technologists for a half-day ONLINE training focused on organization dynamics for effective software delivery, with a focus on evolving responsive organizations.
Based on the book by Matthew Skelton and Manuel Pais, Team Topologies: Organizing Business and Technology Teams for Fast Flow, this training focuses on how to become an organization that can respond quickly to market needs and technological progress by evolving its organizational landscape organically, rather than via large and often painful re-organizations.
Agile clarified how individual teams need a customer focus. DevOps helped bring team collaboration to the spotlight. The “Spotify model” focused on team alignment with business value streams. Yet, there is still very little guidance on organization design for technology organizations. How do we know when to re-think existing teams? What happens when team interactions get awkward? Why are maintenance or BAU teams effective for resource utilization but terrible choices for fast flow and customer focus? What happens to some of the traditional roles (PM, QA, middle managers, software architects, support, etc) when teams become truly autonomous, with virtually no handovers of work? Why do we need co-design of the organization’s socio-technical systems?
This half-day training answers all the above questions, providing an immersive experience, with a balanced set of lectures, case studies, and exercises in small groups.
The training will start and end at the following local regional times (not a complete list):
