Online Training - Reducing Cognitive Load with Supporting Topologies | TT05 | 08 May 2020

SOLD OUT

Join forward-thinking leaders and technologists for a half day ONLINE training focused on reducing cognitive load with supporting topologies.

Based on the book by Matthew Skelton and Manuel Pais, Team Topologies: Organizing Business and Technology Teams for Fast Flow, this live online training introduces attendees to three supporting team topologies whose purpose is to reduce the cognitive load that often cripples software delivery teams. Platform, Enabling, and Complicated Subsystem are all the supporting topologies needed to allow fast flow of delivery by Stream-aligned teams.

We will explore the goals, expected behaviors, recommended practices, primary interaction modes, and meaningful metrics for each of the supporting topologies. We will see how to assess cognitive load and whether it is effectively minimized by modern platforms, targeted upskilling, and contextualized abstractions. Furthermore, we will see how a true organizational landscape emerges from aligning our existing teams with the fundamental topologies, and how that helps organizations adapt faster to market and technology changes.

This half-day training covers multiple case studies in which attendees gain a deeper insight into the successful application of these patterns in the “real world”, as well as pitfalls to avoid. It provides an immersive experience, with a balanced set of lectures, case studies, and exercises in small groups.
