Robinson Roe - Team Topologies Advocate

Rob combines the experience of a seasoned global executive in traditional companies and two startup unicorns with a personal mission of discovering and implementing what makes organisations effective. This mission led him to complete a Master's Thesis titled "Integral Business Architecture" and to co-author the book "Giving Hope," which focuses on the not-for-profit sector. As a Director of SignalRoad, his management experience and academic research have culminated in the BookCast, "Unlocking Change," which presents the Integral Map for Organisations.

Before founding SignalRoad, Rob applied his organisational effectiveness strategies as Managing Director of OneTrust for Asia Pacific and Japan, and as Managing Director of AirWatch for Australia & New Zealand. His career, shaped by roles at Telstra (Australia), Gartner (USA), IBM (Asia Pacific, USA, Australia), and Vickers Ruwolt (Australia), has significantly influenced his innovative ideas and approaches.

Team Topologies Advocacy

Rob found that Team Topologies was the missing piece he had been looking for to complete the Integral Map for Organisation. Throughout his career in executive roles, living and managing teams worldwide, Rob observed recurring issues in both traditional firms and scale-ups. In his master’s thesis, he utilised Ken Wilber’s Integral Theory to outline what is needed to build an effective organisation. This analysis identified the root cause of many problems as the organisational structure. By applying Team Topologies, Rob has successfully developed a real-life organisation with recursive structures instead of functional silos. You can view his work here.
