Audun Fauchald Strand - Team Topologies Advocate
I began my career as a developer focused on increasing development speed by creating robust and resilient architectures and developing platforms to facilitate efficient architecture design. Over time, I realized that the human aspect of development is an even more intriguing and powerful way to drive change. This led me to work in leadership and enterprise architecture within large-scale systems.
For the past seven years, I have been working at NAV, the central organization of the Norwegian welfare state. We are undertaking a significant modernization effort, transitioning from 40-year-old legacy systems to create a modern organization that will serve effectively for the next 40 years.

My main interest is in optimizing flow, and my primary tool for enhancing team flow has been platform engineering. I have been part of teams that created the nais.io platform, which has significantly improved flow for NAV and will soon benefit other governmental organizations in Norway.
Additionally, I have a keen interest in technical leadership within modern, team-based organizations. I believe in a team-centric approach because autonomous teams are crucial for delivering flow. However, achieving organizational-level flow also requires effective leadership. The challenge lies in integrating these two elements harmoniously.
