Join forward-thinking leaders and technologists for a half-day ONLINE training focused on organization dynamics for effective software delivery, with a focus on principles and practices for modern platforms.
Based on the book by Matthew Skelton and Manuel Pais, Team Topologies: Organizing Business and Technology Teams for Fast Flow, this training is a deep dive into modern platforms and the teams working on them.
We will see how platforms come in many different shapes, from a thin layer over third party services, to a strongly nested platform (inner and outer platforms) with internal dogfooding. We assess the benefits of standardized platforms versus the potential cost in fitness for purpose, speed, and reliability.
We also look at some common platform anti-patterns, expected behaviors from platform teams, the “platform skills challenge”, and relevant metrics around platform adoption, engagement, user satisfaction, reliability, and product delivery.
This half-day training covers multiple case studies in which attendees gain a deeper insight into the successful application of these patterns in the “real world”, as well as pitfalls to avoid. It provides an immersive experience, with a balanced set of lectures, case studies, and exercises in small groups.
